Dean's Professional Services is now hiring a qualified, patient-care-focused Phlebotomist III Float to work for a Hospital Facility in East Haven, CT.We are on a mission to create care that's more convenient and professional. To accomplish this, we are looking for individuals who share our sense of excellence and are ready to embrace new opportunities.The Phlebotomist III - Float represents the face of the company by providing skilled, safe, and accurate specimen collection services for patients in various settings. This role requires advanced phlebotomy expertise, leadership ability, and the flexibility to provide coverage across multiple locations and functions, including Patient Service Centers, In-Office Phlebotomy, Long-Term Care, and Mobile/House Call environments. The Phlebotomist III - Float fosters trust and confidence with patients, ensures operational excellence, and acts as a mentor and resource for staff and new employees.Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform high-quality venipuncture and specimen collection procedures with a focus on patient comfort and safety.
  • Provide coverage at multiple locations, fulfilling roles as needed in PSCs, IOPs, mobile, and long-term care settings.
  • Ensure daily operations are completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with company standards.
  • Act as a leader and point of contact on site, providing coaching, mentoring, and onboarding support for staff and new employees.
  • Support high-complexity or high-volume practices, requiring advanced phlebotomy and customer service skills.
  • Collaborate across departments such as Sales, Laboratory Testing Services, IT, Billing, and Logistics to resolve complex client and test order needs.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and strong communication skills in all patient and client interactions.
  • Handle multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Job Requirements:
  • Ability to provide error-free work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
  • Ability to travel and work at multiple locations with minimal notice; reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record required (if applicable).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to handle multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to company policies, safety standards, and dress code.
  • Demonstrated customer focus, adaptability, and ability to embrace change.
  • Keyboard/data entry skills required.
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Work Experience:
  • Minimum five years of phlebotomy experience, inclusive pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • At least three years in a PSC/IOP environment preferred..
  • Previous customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
Job Details:
  • 8 hour shifts.
  • Must be flexible.
  • Starting at $20.24/hr (based on experience) + benefits
