Every day our work directly impacts the world for the better, in meaningful and profound ways.As a Senior Data Engineer you will play a role in implementing the data requirements, ETL design, development, implementation, and operations/maintenance. This position will also support data architecture, focusing heavily on data quality/integrity for data production activities. You’ll have the opportunity to work on complex ETL/data development tasks, support a talented team of data engineers and analysts, and directly contribute to high-visibility and critical business initiatives.You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with architects, data engineers and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions
  • Collaborate with management to align on system principles, thoroughly document both current and future processes, and conduct interviews with stakeholders and end users to gain a comprehensive understanding of business requirements
  • Participate in both high-level and low-level design sessions, develop comprehensive technical project documentation, and translate business requirements into detailed logical and physical design documents
  • Developing data flow diagrams, illustrating logical operational steps of programs, preparing context diagrams, and documenting the conceptual model
  • Develops and executes complex SQL queries, reviews data profiling outcomes to identify semantics, patterns, and value domains within analyzed datasets, and documents current as well as prospective data relationships
  • Perform comprehensive data quality analysis using a wide variety of tools and techniques
  • Develop, document and revise system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards
  • Prepares and coordinates requirement documents among business users; develops designs and implements ETL Procedures for intake of data from both internal and external data sources
  • Perform defect tracking, defect resolution management, and root cause analysis for leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the data lifecycle including troubleshooting and resolving failures within the data lifecycle
  • Implement data processing workflows, ETL processes, and data integration solutions
  • Participate in code review and unit testing by providing meaningful feedback to improve code quality
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in big data technologies

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a relevant field OR equivalent experience
  • Advanced or higher level of proficiency in SQL programming, data analysis and data management
  • 5+ years of experience in working with relational data and SQL programming (SQL Server, Teradata, Snowflake or similar databases)
  • Experience with query optimization techniques
  • Knowledge of data warehousing principles, architecture, and implementation
  • Solid understanding of Data modelling, Databases and Data Warehousing concepts
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills applied to big data datasets
  • Proven ability to perform system investigation, reverse engineering, and new development while adhering to development standards and good change control practice
  • Proven ability to develop and manage multiple projects with minimal direction and supervision
  • Proven implementing end to end features and user stories from analysis/design, building of feature, validation and deployment and post deployment support
Preferred Qualifications:
  • AI experience
  • Experience with automating ETL packages
  • Experience in Healthcare, Financial Services, or Insurance Industry
  • Experience working on projects with agile/scrum methodologies and high-performing teams
  • Expertise in designing and implementing data pipelines to process high volumes of data.
  • Experience with Python automation techniques and procedures

The salary for this role will range from $89,900 to $160,600 annually based on full-time employment.
