Basic FunctionHF Sinclair Parco Refinig LLC in Sinclair, WY is seeking an Operation Manager who oversees and manages multiple aspects and activities of the operations function and refining activities.Job Duties
  • Ensures safe, environmentally sound, reliable operations of the various refinery production units
  • Ensures production goals are met
  • Directs teams to assist in optimizing the profitability of refinery operations
  • Provides strategic direction for future success and profitability of the refinery, translating refinery strategic direction to definitive plans and actions
  • Ensures compliance with current and future standards, regulations, laws and directives for the safe operation of the refinery
  • Coordinates process and design changes/improvements for the refinery
  • May oversee the maintenance of records of all work performed by the teams and provide regular updates
  • Reviews and approves, and prepares operational reports and budgets
  • Monitors the performance of refinery systems
  • Approves the turnaround scope of budget
  • Liaises with operators, maintenance, and technical support groups
  • Reviews and approves training requirements for supervisors and operators
  • Ensures compliance with health, safety & environmental regulations
  • Coordinates, establishes priorities and troubleshoots for operations and maintenance, and oversees the maintenance of the process facility
  • Manages and directs the Process Area Business Teams and monitors performance management of Operations personnel
  • Maximize the ROCE for the area; oversee Turnaround management; ensure plant reliability and energy targets are met and process units are optimized
  • Monitor and maintain Operational Excellence at the Process Unit, Area and Organizational level and champion refinery initiatives and FEL's
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.ExperienceA minimum of 10 years of related experience and with a minimum of five years of working knowledge in the industry with some lead or supervisory experience is required.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:A significant amount of experience with refineries in the energy industry is preferred.Education LevelA minimum of a Bachelor's Degree preferably in a technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience, is required.Required SkillsLeads and direct the work of others, typically Supervisors and senior individual contributors. Proficient with spreadsheet, presentation and word processing applications; excellent planning, problem-solving, interpersonal, organizational, leadership, analytical, ability to effectively communicate with others, both verbal and written communication. General understanding of corporate governance practices, handling regulatory compliance including State, Federal and various other government authorities. Ability to lead business process improvement initiatives and technical implementations. Proven leadership skills including mentoring, decision making, delegation and motivating others. Depending on assignment, may require working knowledge of HES (Process safety management, environmental compliance, OEMS); refinery processes, optimization and economics; and FEL process for capital projects, T/A and non-T/A. Intermediate reading and writing skills, with the ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations.Supervisory/Managerial ResponsibilityResponsible for the supervision of approximately 12 employees.Work ConditionsOffice and refinery based with up to 20% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, out-of-doors environment, including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, working in closed confined spaces, wet and/or oil contaminated conditions, at both below grade and elevated positions, and exposure to the risk of electrical shock. Depending on location may be exposed to high-stress environment and long hours. Subject to all temperatures, weather and varying road conditions.Physical RequirementsJob conditions may require lifting up to 50 lbs, sitting, climbing up to the height of a unit, and bending. In some locations, must be available for weekend and after hour call-outs. Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and respirator as needed. No Beards. May be required to work in confined spaces.
