We are looking for highly motivated, customer-focused, and experienced Operations Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing operations, as well as the ability to lead and motivate a team. The Operational Manager will be responsible for all aspects of daily production, quality, customer service, and materials management at the McKenzie Valve facility. They will also be responsible for ensuring that the company's safety and environmental programs are implemented and maintained.Responsibilities:
  • Directs the shop workforce, oversees work schedules, and monitors operational performance.
  • Ensures that product quality meets all ISO, AAR, engineering, customer, and company standards.
  • Manages budgetary control of his/her operations.
  • Ensures that all employees are trained in accordance with the company's safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental policies and programs.
  • Participates in and actively supports quality projects and activities and Responsible Care initiatives to ensure the company achieves its goals.
  • Manages departmental performance measurements using DigiLEAN.
  • Ensures effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development and resolves employee issues through problem resolution.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of an associate degree (2-Year) from an accredited institution or extensive experience.
  • Five (5) years of management/supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment strongly emphasizing Lean techniques.
  • Thorough knowledge of general management principles, including accounting, manufacturing, and related reports and statements.
  • Keen understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experienced in Continuous Improvement.
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of manufacturing operating systems.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical documentation, specifications, drawings, and manuals, and effectively integrate the information contained into a cohesive whole.
  • Ability to communicate through written and verbal means and give instructions in a clear and understandable manner to contractors, and plant personnel.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with machine shop equipment.
  • Project management skills.
  • Skilled problem solver and ability to lead teams from concept to completion.
