The Blanchard Operator is primarily responsible for grinding parts flat and parallel to customer specified thickness and finish, while contributing to team efforts for operating in a safe environment for the timely delivery of quality parts by maximizing first run production of parts to Router requirements.Primary Responsibilities:
  • Determines sequence of operations by studying the router, blueprints, specifications, and work orders.
  • Prepares machine for production by positioning parts on table with block-ins or angle blocks.
  • Regulates machining by setting and adjusting controls.
  • Maintains specifications by observing operations, detecting defects, inspecting parts, and adjusting controls.
  • Resolves production problems by adjusting controls and process materials to meet specifications. Notifies supervisor for additional resources when necessary.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on scheduled times, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and alerting supervisor of necessity of for repairs.
  • Meets daily production scheduled requirements.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.

  • Contributes to continuous improvement process.
Qualifications:Knowledge: Basic reading and math skills (minimum of 8th grade level). GED or High School Diploma required, and 1 to 3 years in Manufacturing Experience.Abilities: Manufacturing Quality, Controls and Instrumentation, Mechanical Inspection Tools.Skills: Decision Making, Problem Solving, Job Knowledge, understands copy exact requirements, experience with OSHA compliance.Physical Demands:Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds.
