
Guest Services and Security Supervisor

- Ensure enforcement and compliance of the venue’s Event Policies at all times.
- Assist with directional and informational inquiries. Serve as escalation point for complaints/issues.
- Appropriately document all major/minor incidents.
- Deploy staff for events. Assign appropriate shift, breaks, and necessary equipment.
- Train staff in basic guest service and security skills. Actively monitor staff interactions with Dignity Health Arena, Theater & Convention Center, Bakersfield Ice Sports Center, Dignity Health Arena Amphitheater venue guests, clients, artists/athletes, and employees at all events to ensure a safe, secure, comfortable entertainment experience for all.
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff. Serve as mentor/coach to all Security employees.
- Provide timely, appropriate feedback to staff on performance, both positive and corrective. Effectively communicate escalated employee issues to Event Services Management Team.
- Administer appropriate performance reviews, counseling and disciplinary documentations as needed to ensure compliance of Dignity Health Arena, Theater & Convention Center, Bakersfield Ice Sports Center, Dignity Health Amphitheater company/department policies.
- Exhibit the ability to accept responsibility for the performance & conduct of the entire event services team assigned to the deployment.
- Exhibit leadership qualities, motivate staff & lead by example.
- Be able to supervise building’s 24/7 posts (loading dock, and Security Command Center).
- Be able to conduct department’s daily inventories as needed.
- Conduct department’s equipment checks (hand wands bollards, radios, CCTV). Contact service providers and vendors to ensure equipment is maintained as needed.
- Assist with updating department’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for all posts.
- Knowledgeable of building’s Fire Alarm systems.
- Provides general information about venue or event as needed
- Checks for credentials and allows access as required or designated
- Will provide guest with a welcoming and stress-free experience.
- Monitor access points for prohibited individuals may attempt to bring into the facility
- Interact in a professional manner when dealing with other building staff, clients, guest, supervisor, and corporate staff.
- Comply with all legal & ethical instructions given by department Supervisors.
- Conduct patrols of the building on a regular basis.
- Monitor and remotely operate an array of cameras.
- Man fixed-post positions, monitor and report activity.
- Respond to all security & safety related calls in a timely manner.
- Exhibit exemplary conduct & appearance while on duty.
- Comply with & adhere to all the department’s performance, conduct, & attendance standards.
- Adhere to the Security Department’s Prime Directives.
- Write report, report any malfunctions, misconduct or operational safety issues.
- Interview witnesses, write incident report as necessary
- Assist with the development and implementation of public safety plans for the day to day operations or special events.
- Conduct regular inspections of all floors and exhibits, rotate post as assigned
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent-Some College Preferred.
- 6 months to 1 year customer services experience, preferably in a similar environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, employment verification, and post-offer drug screening test.
- The employee must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per the AEG Human Resources Policies and Procedures (Event Services Department).
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, and withstand various weather elements such as high temperature and rain.

- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
- Must be available to work at least two (2) events per week; including all events on Fridays, Saturdays. Commonly events are scheduled from 5pm to 10pm for hockey games.
- An understanding of the rule of law & the relevant penal codes.
- Ability to represent the Event Services Department in an exemplary manner.
- Ability to maintain good business relations with all the employees & managers in other departments.
- Ability to exhibit maturity by making sound judgment.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, lift 45 lbs, reach, pull, push, grasp, and drag.
- Assist with checking in packages, visitors, and vehicles.
- Ability to memorize, recollects, and quickly retrieves relevant information.
- Ability to interact effectively and calmly with angry or emotional patrons and employees during intensely aggravated circumstances without the loss of composure.
- Ability to maintain patron, employee, and company confidentiality.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Tasks are performed with moderate supervision.
- Walking & standing occurs 90% of the time.
- Talking, hearing, walking, running, & vision activities occur continuously.
- Some tasks may require employees to come in contact with hazardous chemicals.
- Employee should use precautions & follow safety guidelines.
