- Replace electrical receptacle covers, switches; using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings
- Repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, toilets, painting structures and equipment
- Replacing damaged sheet rock, paneling, floor tiles, and ceiling tiles; hanging doors and installing door locks.
- Replaces broken window panes.
- Perform general maintenance on equipment or machinery.
- Installs or repairs any of a variety of electrical equipment, painting, plumbing and masonry.
- Work involves planning and layout of work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions.
- Assists other crafts and trades personnel in their daily operations.
- Constructing components, subunits, or simple models or adapts standard equipment; may troubleshoot and correct malfunctions;
- Following specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment.
- Conducting various tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement, selecting, preparing, and operating standard test equipment and records test data;
- Extracting and compiling a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc., processing data, identifying errors or inconsistencies, selecting methods of data presentation.
- Assisting in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts; developing information concerning previous operational failures and modifications, and using judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek sources to clarify information.
- Performs work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, policies, and regulations.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent, with a minimum of five (5) years' experience in Operations and Maintenance services supporting a military base or civilian installation.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- A minimum of one (1) year of successful (related) experience and performance in a military or civilian workforce preferred.
- Emergency Management/Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) experience, preferred.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
