Job Category: Communications & Marketing RolesJob Description:This position will assist in the administration of all aspects of Marketing and Promotions functions for 21 varsity sports. In this capacity, this individual will seek to generate attendance from various constituencies for all home events, and create an exciting atmosphere for specific events. This individual will also play a key role in all aspects of event management operations for the department.Davidson College is a highly selective, independent liberal arts college located in Davidson, North Carolina. Davidson is strongly committed to achieving excellence and cultural diversity, and welcomes applications from women, members of minority groups, and others who would bring additional dimensions to the college's mission.Job Duties:Create and execute marketing plans for specified sports to drive game attendance and enhance the game experience through in-game promotions and halftime activities. Collaborate in devising, planning, and executing strategies to increase revenue, including special events, group ticket sales, assisting in building relationships with corporate partnerships.Manage marketing office functions including:- All promotional efforts, attendance generation, sponsorship implementation, and fan experience initiatives for all 21 varsity sports, concentrating on home contests.- Creating and developing, personally or through supervision, marketing and promotional plans for all sports home contests - includes training coworkers- Design work including ticket brochures, schedule posters, web graphics, advertisements, etc.- Work with Ticket Office to increase revenue generation from ticketed sports.- Work with Sports Information on Social Media account management.- Accounting of marketing/promotions budget.- Create and schedule advertisements in the community, email marketing campaigns.Assist in overall event management for Athletic Department, including serving as Game Administrator with complete management of specified events. Assist Game Operations Director in scheduling and training of game workers.Other duties as assigned. Assist in updating the athletics website. Ensure compliance with NCAA, Conference, and College rules and regulations.Assist in developing, implementing, coordinating and evaluating promotional plans & marketing strategies to increase sales & attendance for selected sports.Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • At least one year of relevant work experience performing marketing duties in a collegiate athletics environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Graphic Design Experience.
  • Degree in marketing or sports promotion, preferred.
