- Works under direction of the Production Manager as a staff team member responsible to maintain department production activities, processes, procedures, and employees to meet production and other assigned workload schedules.
- Works closely with lead personnel and other departments on any ingredient issues.
- After review with Production Manager, plans the department's activities to coordinate with production schedules and needs.
- Works closely with all other Supervisors and Managers as warranted.
- People oriented - supports and leads by example. Flexible to meet needs of business.
- Maintains department to meet customer specifications and schedules.
- Identify root cause of a problem, reviews with management and implements corrective action.
- Coordinates through Production Manager with QA on any production issues.
- Experienced and displays superior knowledge of ingredients and processes. Professional, is customer focused and results oriented. Able to speak and write, multi-task and add value to Production team.
- Forklift certified - able to operate both stand up and sit down units.
- Will perform other duties or special projects as needed. May fill in for production manager in his absence under direction of plant manager.
- Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma, some college or advanced courses preferred. Requires a minimum of five (5) years hands-on experience in our production area or related field. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Proven record for quality, safety and attendance policies. Thorough work knowledge of OSHA, company policies and procedures and manufacturing/QA processes.
- Some level of knowledge of FDA reporting and a solid understanding or HACCP and critical control points
- Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and the general flow production lines
- Professional communication, analytical abilities, organizational skills, interpersonal skills and general knowledge in MS Office, AS400 and Lotus Notes.
