Jefferson Wells is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Corporate Accounting Consultant to temporarily fill in for a key accounting role with one of our clients located in an eastern suburb of Cleveland, OH. This position is critical to ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of their consolidated financial statements and compliance with SEC reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate accounting, financial consolidations, and public company reporting.Our consultants are hired as W-2 employees and are paid on an hourly basis though our regular weekly payroll. Health Benefits are also available. LOCAL NE OHIO CANDIDATES ONLY WILL BE CONSIDERED.Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement consolidation process for multiple entities, including domestic and international subsidiaries.
  • Prepare and review consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and SEC requirements.
  • Ensure intercompany eliminations, foreign currency translations, and equity method accounting are accurately recorded.
  • Assist with the preparation of 10-Q and 10-K filings, including footnote disclosures and supporting schedules.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to support audit and review procedures.
  • Maintain and improve consolidation processes and internal controls.
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in corporate accounting, with a focus on financial consolidations.
  • Experience working in or with publicly traded companies.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency with consolidation software (e.g., Oracle FCCS, OneStream, Hyperion, or similar).
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Big Four or large regional public accounting experience.
  • Experience with SOX compliance and internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with international accounting standards (IFRS) is a plus.
