- Operation of Hematology (Sysmex XN430), Chemistry (Ortho 5600),Microbiology (BioFire), serology and quantitative PCR instruments, including quality control, calibration, maintenance, validations and troubleshooting
- Maintain competence to perform pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic procedures on biological specimens to aid health care providers in the diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and prevention of disease.
- Evaluate results of calibration and quality control and implement corrective action when indicated.
- Determine performance specifications for new methods.
- Confirm and verify results through knowledge of techniques, principles, and analyzers and deliver results in a timely manner.
- Monitor safety programs in compliance with laboratory regulations (CAP, CLIA, DPH
- Utilize laboratory information systems (LIS) or other methods to report patient results accurately and effectively.
- Adhere to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure patient privacy and maintain the highest level of safety and reliability in testing.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and reagents for continuous operation of instrumentation.
- Participate in Proficiency Testing per regulations.
- Communicate effectively with other Staff members.
- Work as a Team with other Staff members to deliver quality patient results.
- Treat coworkers, patients, and vendors with respect. Work with Medical Director of Laboratory Services on matters of compliance and patient care
- Work with designated reference lab to assure seamless transition of specimens for further analysis.
- Bachelor's Degree in medical laboratory science from an accredited college or university with one year of structured clinical laboratory experience in the general areas of a clinical laboratory, including Hematology and Chemistry or
- Associate degree in medical laboratory science from an accredited college or university with three year of structured clinical laboratory experience in the general areas of a clinical laboratory, including Hematology and Chemistry
