
Sterile Processing Instrument Coord

Coordinates instrument inventory and assists in ordering and maintaining pars. Collaborates with the OR staff to ensure sufficient instrumentation is available.Responsibilities:
- Ensures instruments trays are up and operational,. Obtains quotes from vendors as needed, and submits orders for approval.
- Works with OR staff to ensure proper instruments are available and instrument par levels are maintained. Assists SPD leadership with solutions.
- Update files, coordinate instruments needed, count sheets are created and maintained, assists in tracking instruments sent out for repair.
- Function in the department as SPD Tech completing all duties and functions in that role (decontamination, assembling, sterilization).
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
- Minimum Required Education: High School diploma or GED.
- Required Licensure/Certification: Certified as a CSPDT (Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) from CBSPD or CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) from Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) - OR - State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration and certified as a Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
- Minimum Experience: 1 year of sterile processing experience..
