Process Operator

- Oversees drying/processing of raw material to finished product; monitors drying rate of material to maintain maximum rate of processing per hour.
- Maintains consistent flow of material from initial receipt to shipment.
- Monitors control panel and various gauges to ensure process maximum efficiencies.
- Operates bio-mass burner and pollution control systems within parameters established by Company, state, and local regulations.
- May perform some preventative maintenance duties (i.e. lubricating machinery and checking lubricant levels as required)
- Informs Shift Lead Person and Plant Manager of any problems.
- May be responsible for plant start-up or shut-down.
- Maintains safety as top priority in accordance with all company safety rules and regulations.
- Aware of, has received training and is responsible for maintaining Darling's Food Safety program.
- All other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum 6 months experience in Bakery plant or related environment dealing with moisture levels, biomass burners, forced air dryers, grinders, conveyors, air and wastewater controls.
- Work well with others in a team environment.
- Safety conscience; detail oriented; able to multi-task.
- Good mechanical skills; knowledge of plant processes and equipment.
- Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
- Occasionally push, pull, move or lift up to 50 lbs.
- Regularly required reach with hands and arms.
