Role Type: On-SiteJOB SUMMARY:The Estimator is responsible for delivering detailed and accurate cost estimates in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role involves calculating material, labor, and time requirements for various projects and providing timely support for internal and external stakeholders.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Analyze project documentation including proposals, blueprints, and engineering drawings to calculate labor, materials, and time requirements in a custom fabrication settingDetermine estimated production time and workforce hours based on customer scope and applicable standardsPrepare cost breakdowns for materials and in-house work processesMaintain up-to-date information on labor rates and material pricing to ensure accurate quotationsBuild and maintain professional relationships with vendors and suppliersInterpret a wide range of customer drawings and technical specifications to create detailed and competitive quotesMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:2–4 years of relevant experience in a custom manufacturing or fabrication setting, ideally involving welding, machining, or metalworkEquivalent combinations of education and hands-on experience will be consideredProficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentsStrong verbal and written communication skills for customer and team interactionsComfortable using Microsoft Office Suite and other basic business softwareStrong organizational skills with attention to detailAbility to manage multiple priorities and work within tight deadlinesSelf-motivated and capable of working independently with limited supervisionPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:Prior hands-on experience as a CNC Machinist and/or Welder-Fitter in a medium-to-heavy industrial fabrication environmentEQUIPMENT & TOOLS USED:Computer, calculator, ruler, scannerSoftware: Microsoft Excel, Adobe PDF, quoting and job costing tools such as ERP/CRM systems and digital quote logs
