We are currently seeking an experienced Software Engineer II to play a critical and long-term role within the development, testing and security compliance of software applications for the NAVY customer. This position is located in Indian Head, Maryland, with some anticipated remote flexibility, and will support the IT and Information Systems Security Division within the Naval Warfare Center.Clearance: Active Top Secret preferredPosition Overview:
  • Identify and document software requirements, executing application designs and developing unit test cases.
  • Engage deeply in software testing, developing manual and automated test plans to ensure robustness and functionality.
  • Participate in cybersecurity assessments and authorization processes, performing risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, and supporting the accreditation requirements for RDT&E Labs to achieve an Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Maintain cybersecurity documents and validating security packages as per Navy standards, including evaluating system requirements against Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG).
  • Ensure adherence to the DISA Application Security and Development STIG APP210.
Qualifications:
  • Completed Bachelors Degree
  • 4-7 years of relative experience
  • Active TS security clearance
  • Strong technical foundation in software development, coupled with a rigorous approach to cybersecurity and compliance, ensuring the secure deployment and operation of software systems in a sensitive or regulated environment.
