- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Control Systems Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in electrical controls design
- Proficiency in electrical design software, such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN
- Strong knowledge of electrical control system design principles and methodologies
- Experience with industrial automation and control systems
- Familiarity with electrical codes, standards, and regulations
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Design and develop electrical control systems for industrial machinery, automation systems, and other applications
- Develop control system architecture, including electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts
- Select and specify electrical components, such as PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and actuators
- Design network architecture and specify network components
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and project managers to ensure control systems meet project requirements
- Document design specifications, technical drawings, and test results
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in electrical control system technology
- Adapt to both customer and internal design standards
- Occasionally travel to customer sites
- Highly proficient in AutoCAD electrical.
- High level of farmiliarity with functional safety requirements and standards
- General knowledge related to industry safety design standards and best practices including
- NFPA 79
- NFPA 70E
- ANSI/RIA
- ISO 12100 & 13849
- Good computer proficiency in Microsoft office applications
- Strong knowledge of AC/DC power, motors, drives/motion control, industrial controls, pneumatic valves and sensors.
- General knowledge of industrial networking & various communication protocols
- General knowledge of robotic welding (arc, laser, resistance)
- Familiar with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in machine control design
- Familiar with manufacturing and tooling processes
- Understand the Company's EHS Policy and how it relates to this job.
- Be aware of OSHA & EPA laws and regulations as well as the Company's Plant Rules and Regulations that pertain to this job.
- Work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner and observe all company EHS procedures.
- Immediately notify the Supervisor if there is any safety hazard, any equipment not operating correctly, or if there are any questions regarding EHS procedures.
- Attend required EHS training.
