Be the change - apply now and become a Part-Time AmeriCorps Literacy Lead!Part-time AmeriCorps members serve 23+ hours per week, in-person from September/October 2024 to June/July 2025, and must commit to a service term of 900+ hours. All AmeriCorps positions are Monday-Friday, with a daily schedule that could vary. AmeriCorps members understand this is a service opportunity, not a job, and are committed to completing their full term of service.All AmeriCorps members receive intensive training at the start of their service, as well as ongoing training and professional development throughout their service term. Training may happen at the Reading Partners office, or at school/partner sites across the region.Available Positions:Literacy LeadEligibility:Possess a high school diploma or GEDHold US Citizenship or Permanent Resident StatusBe at least 18-years old at the beginning of your serviceHave not completed more than four (4) terms with AmeriCorpsQualifications:Root your service in ourPay strong attention to detail and manage competing priorities effectivelyAre open to learning technology systems like Salesforce, Google Apps, and ZoomAre able to both collaborate in a team environment and work independentlyBonus points if you are an AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, or other national service alum/alumna; and/or have experience volunteering with community-based or education programsBenefits:Reading Partners offers a supportive culture, intensive training at the start of your service, and ongoing professional development and coaching.AmeriCorps members receive a twice monthly paycheck of $646.25, totalling $12,925.00 over the 10-month service termSegal Education Award of $3,697.50, after successfully completing your service term$125 Mid-year Bonus$750 End-of-year BonusPublic transportation reimbursement of $132/month for 10-monthsCPR certificationYou may be eligible for student loan forbearance on federal loansOther Considerations:AmeriCorps members must live within commuting distance and have access to reliable transportation on a daily basis, including public transportationDue to the changing nature of serving in public education, AmeriCorps members may be asked to transition to another Reading Partners AmeriCorps position in the same regionIn the event of a local, state, or federal disaster declaration, AmeriCorps members may be asked on a volunteer basis or be required by OneStar to activate to assist in disaster response and recovery activities within their communities. This may involve virtual service opportunities or in-person service opportunities. This may include service opportunities outside of the member’s standard service hours or in place of their standard service duties.
