Plans, coordinates and performs standard and complex administrative/management support activities for a field construction office such as fiscal, personnel, procurement, data, and supply functions. This includes the generation of all associated reports and record keeping in the appropriate computer software. Maintains all records as necessary in an organized system. All of this work is performed in accordance with all SCDOT regulations and policies stated in the SCDOT Human Resources Manual, SCDOT Standard Specifications, SCDOT Construction Manual, SCDOT Standard Drawings for Road Construction and Contract Special Provisions. Serves as liaison between the Resident Construction Engineer, the general public, agency personnel, and other entities. Receives, reviews, distributes, and sorts mail in order to maintain efficiency of the office. Reviews various records maintained by staff to ensure accuracy. Maintains records of training and certifications of all office personnel. Conducts audits of purchasing card records to ensure compliance with all associated policies. Trains new employees on various SCDOT rules, regulations, and policies. Performs other related duties as assigned.
A high school diploma and six (6) months of work experience that is directly related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence.The physical demands for the essential functions of this position include sitting or standing at a desk for extended periods and working on a computer. May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. May be required to work outside of normal work schedule, especially during inclement weather and/or other departmental-related emergencies.
