We serve over 50 percent of United Ways with a broad range of shared services and products, helping them to increase community impact while saving money.Position OverviewWe are looking for a talented and passionate technologist. We are United Way sensitive, and impact driven. The System Administrator is customer-oriented and risk-aware, with a desire to build the next generation of infrastructure while continuing to support legacy customer needs. Collaborating with a team dedicated to learning new technology and mastering existing - while applying that knowledge to help United Way staff solve technology challenges. After the initial screening, candidates will be interviewed to assess technical skills and collaboration skills with the existing team.Responsibilities
  • Administer and support a diverse evolving physical, virtual and cloud technology infrastructure for United Way customers.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and advanced troubleshooting to business analysts, help desk staff and customers with clear and concise verbal and written communication.
  • Respond to technology faults as a member of a rotating 24x7x365 on-call team in a calm and collected manner.
  • Support governance, regulatory and compliance needs by following documented policies and procedures.
  • Proactively identify, document, and mitigate risk for Upic and our customers.
  • Continuously measure, meet, and exceed infrastructure performance and availability targets.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • 2+ years in an enterprise or hosting environment are required.
  • Additional experience within a multi-domain environment preferred of those with enterprise experience.
  • Microsoft and/or AWS certifications preferred
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a drive for continuous improvement, and strong attention to detail.
  • Team player who possesses a desire and ability to work in a customer-oriented technology environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, coupled with excellent listening skills and a positive and energetic phone presence.
  • Experience with or desire to learn cloud technology such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with or desire to learn the administration of the following software: Microsoft Windows (Desktop and Server), Microsoft server applications (Exchange, IIS, Active Directory, Remote Desktop Services, SQL), Microsoft PowerShell, Microsoft Office, Labtech RMM or other RMM tool, Virtualization (VMWare and Hyper-V), Backup tools, monitoring tools and more.
  • Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networks, desktop systems, servers, switches and security appliances, load balancers, wireless access points, SMB SAN/NAS systems and more.
  • Willing to treat systems as cattle and not pets, with an understanding of the role automation plays in technology today.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a remotely managed and operated team in a fast-paced environment.
