- Job Title: Travel Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) Locum Tenens
- Location: Marion, IL 62959 Southern Illinois nursing jobs in a welcoming, small-town community
- Assignment Length: 20 weeks (Start: September 15, 2025 End: February 1, 2026)
- Healthcare Setting: 36-bed med/surg/ortho unit
- Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM 7:30 PM)
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1910 - $2040
- Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend; holidays as scheduled
- Float: May float to Emergency Department (ED) or Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for medical holds only
- Scrub Colors: Navy Blue
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (no pending or temporary licenses)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
- American Heart Association BLS certification required
- EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) charting experience
- Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Strong clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
- Confident, independent, and adaptable RN who thrives in a fast-paced environment
- COVID-19 vaccine not required (subject to change)
- No local candidates (must reside outside a 40-mile radius of Marion, IL)
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in a busy med/surg/ortho unit
- Manage a 6:1 patient ratio, providing comprehensive assessments, interventions, and clinical support
- Float to ED/ICU for medical holds as needed
- Accurately document patient care using the EPIC EMR system
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Demonstrate resilience and adaptability to changing unit needs
- Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as scheduled
