- Oversee delegation and assignment of daily corrective, preventive and predictive repairs for assigned shift.
- Assist the campus Director of Maintenance plan large maintenance activities, such as predictive maintenance work, projects and planned downtime. Ensure proper parts, labor and work instructions are available for this work
- Contact vendors and outside contractors for parts, supplies, labor support and information as needed to enable the Maintenance Department to support production.
- Provide consistent feedback to employees regarding job task performance and accomplishment of goals. Address unacceptable performance by administering disciplinary actions fairly using the Tarkett policy handbook.
- Oversee maintenance/repairs that are performed by outside contractors, verify performance and productivity, ensure outside contractors adhere to the Tarkett safety and environmental policies.
- Provide departmental informational, KPI’s and historical data to support management.
- Perform necessary managerial duties in the absence of the campus Director of Maintenance.
- Manage machine repairs, as needed, to assist in the facilitation of production.
- Utilizing the Tarkett CMMS system, MVP One, create preventive maintenance schedules, spare part inventories and maintain the OEM technical information library for existing and new equipment. As well as, removal of these items when decommissioning equipment.
- In conjunction with the maintenance staff, evaluate equipment downtime through root cause analysis tools (4D) and create sustainable preventive / predictive systems to avoid or prevent reoccurring downtime.
- Must perform his/her job functions while observing Tarkett safety standards and regulations. While performing the duties of this job, frequently exposed to risk of injury. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes and airborne particles.
- Must be physically and mentally able to perform each duty satisfactorily.
- This position will work overtime when required by the project timeline or to support manufacturing.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 5 to 7 years related experience
- Associate degree in maintenance engineering is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, mechanical drawings, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondences; ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to calculate mechanical ratios, in addition to figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Required to stand, walk, sit, working laying down or unusual positions, use hand and eye coordination, use hand/air/electrical power tools, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel and crouch.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
- Experience in advanced welding systems, hydraulic / pneumatic control systems, advanced shop tools, such as Bridgeport, lath, drill press, surface grinder, etc...
