DescriptionPMA-265 F/A-18 Program Office, Air Vehicle Integration Systems Engineering SupportSAIC is searching for a Senior Systems Engineer to support PMA-265 EFG Air Vehicle Class Desk by providing systems engineering oversight for Air Vehicle hardware/software integration, Block III modernization, and other efforts as required.This position is hybrid-remote requiring 2-3 days onsite in California, MD. A minimum of a Secret clearance is required.Responsibilities and Tasking:
  • Provide systems integration support for cross-functional Air Vehicle integration & interoperability initiatives
  • F/A-18E/F Block III Modernization:
  • Growler Systems Integration
  • Propulsion & Power
  • Avionics
  • Weapon Systems Integration
  • System Configuration Set
  • Radar/Electronic Warfare
  • Electro-Optical / Infrared Systems
  • Architecture Working Group
  • Develop & maintain project plans, technical requirements, interface documentation, and verification plans for Air Vehicle commodities to include
  • Transparencies
  • Furnishings/Compartments/Crew Systems
  • Escape Systems
  • Pylons / External Store Interfaces
  • Coatings / Seals
  • Provide engineering support for Air Vehicle performance, readiness, and sustainment initiatives
  • Performance / Survivability Assessments
  • Reliability Control Board
  • System Safety Working Group
  • Corrosion Prevention Advisory Team
  • Provide acquisition support and deliverable review feedback
  • Assess technical baseline maturation through System Engineering Technical Review planning & execution.
  • Lead deficiency management and resolution efforts
  • Provide leadership / mentoring of Junior Engineers
  • Demonstrate effective communication with cross-functional Integrated Product Team (IPT) stakeholders
QualificationsREQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related science discipline
  • At least seven (7) years of recent and relevant experience in a position related to the labor category description is required. Demonstrated knowledge in area of engineering expertise is required.
  • Secret clearance is required
  • Understanding and the ability to execute tasks associated with NAVAIR's System Safety, Risk Management, Engineering Change Proposal (ECP), and Airworthiness/Cybersafe processes
  • Proficient with MS Office products
PREFFERED EXPERIENCE:
  • Prior NAVAIR Program Office experience
  • Procedural familiarity with System Safety / Risk Management Planning
  • Configuration Management / Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) / Technical Directives
  • Hardware / Software Integration
  • Airworthiness / Operational Limits
  • Proficiency with Collaborative Tools / Data Environments including Microsoft Teams
