- Work alongside technology development and engineering teams in the design of automation and mechanical equipment by creating CAD drawings and models.
- Support the integration of new Control systems equipment such as HMIs and Vision systems.
- Deliver design solutions and write technical reports for completed work to capture insights.
- Use 3d printers to create functional prototypes and assist with machine assembly
- Minimum of 2+ years working toward a Bachelor's Degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering. Preference is for students who will have completed their 3rd year of a BS level college engineering program prior to starting the internship and will be graduating within 12 months of finishing the internship.
- Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2026 (May-August 2026) with a graduation date of December 2026 or later
- Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.
- Be willing to work at the posted job location
- Solid understanding of mechanical principles and strong design skills
- Computer literacy and experience with data analysis tools
- Ability to analyze machine, equipment, process data to uncover insights and make design decisions
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively present information
- Result-oriented, takes strong initiative, and able to work well both independently and in a team environment
- Organizational skills and the ability to build relationships and interact with all levels of the organization
