Position Summary:The purpose of this position is to accurately bill and follow up on DME registrations in order to increase patient satisfaction, reduce denials, maintain compliance, and increase cash flow.Department Summary:This department is responsible for registration, billing, and follow-up for the post-acute entities.Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
DME Billing Experience preferred
Skills:
Comprehensive knowledge of Patient Registration and Revenue Cycle
Knowledge of DME and managed care concepts
Experience in CPT, HCPCS, and ICD coding
Knowledge of Long-Term Care/Rehab billing a plus
Knowledge of claims review
Refined communication skills, both written and oral
Ability to cope with the stress of the position and deadlines imposed
Refined organizational skills
Ability to function independently, displaying personal integrity and always maintaining confidentiality
Professional manner and appearance in accordance with Aultman Health System policies
Comprehensive knowledge of computer and software systems utilized by the department.
Responsibilities & Expectations:
Provides customer service to internal and external customers to assist in account resolution.
Effectively collect and resolve patient accounts receivable and monitor including aging
Resolve patient accounts by collecting payments and/or contractual adjustments by obtaining insurance and/or third-party information
Responsible for checking status and documenting all assigned insurance accounts and submitting claims for billing or rebilling electronic or hard copy
Keep informatics updated on specific insurance handling of specific accounts
Identify areas for inter and intradepartmental operational improvements

Lunch periods and breaks are coordinated with other staff members to maintain adequate floor coverage
Cross training in all areas in the department is required.
