
Quality, Environmental & Safety Management Specialist - White Bear Lake, MN - Full-Time

- Monitor and analyze production and operational data to ensure products and services meet defined quality criteria.
- Assist in developing and enforcing internal quality standards, procedures, and inspection methods.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for product non-conformities, process deviations, and customer complaints.
- Conduct quality checks and audits of processes, materials, and finished goods.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing results, and quality performance metrics.
- Update and maintain Quality Control folders with the most current product revision.
- Attend ECN (Engineering Change Notice) meetings to follow up on product defects and revisions.
- Track supplier performance, including probationary status, and determine release based on approved receipt thresholds.
- Track and report environmental performance indicators (e.g., waste generation, chemical usage, water and energy consumption).
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations (e.g., EPA, local air/water boards).
- Support hazardous waste handling, storage, and disposal in compliance with regulations.
- Promote and support sustainability efforts including waste reduction, recycling, and energy conservation initiatives.
- Assist in preparing environmental reports, permits, and incident documentation.
- Monitor compliance with company safety policies and applicable safety regulations (e.g., OSHA).
- Conduct regular workplace safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Assist with incident investigations and develop corrective and preventive action plans.
- Track and report on safety metrics such as near misses, injuries, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate and support safety training for employees, including new hire orientation, job-specific safety topics, and first aid/CPR training and recertification.
- Track forklift certification and required recertification schedules.
- Maintain documentation for Safety Data Sheets (SDS), training records, and incident reports.
- Support field safety programs, including the provision and tracking of PPE kits and monitoring safety occurrences by location or task.
- Manage fire suppression equipment, including annual fire extinguisher servicing and coordination of fire and severe weather drills.
- Restart and facilitate the home office safety team, including scheduling regular meetings and reviewing the legacy 2017 Safety SOP.
- Develop and deliver employee training on quality practices, environmental awareness, and workplace safety.
- Work cross-functionally with production, maintenance, engineering, and compliance teams to resolve issues and implement improvements.
- Participate in internal audits and inspections related to quality, environmental, and safety practices.
- Support emergency preparedness and response planning for environmental, quality, or safety-related incidents.
- Partner with central operations supervisors to ensure proper carton labeling for shipments, and audit compliance with critical label requirements (e.g., lithium battery warnings, air transport restrictions).
- 2+ years of experience in a quality, environmental, or safety-related role—preferably in manufacturing, industrial operations, or logistics.
- Familiarity with environmental and safety regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA, RCRA, Clean Air/Water Act).
- Experience with data collection and reporting tools for compliance and performance monitoring.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with tools like Excel, Power BI, or other data management/reporting platforms.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis, FMEA, or Lean/Six Sigma methodologies (certification not required).
- Experience delivering employee training and conducting audits.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact across multiple departments.
- Comfortable working in both office and industrial environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health & Safety, Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
