Job DescriptionJob ID#:3828Job Category:Affordable HousingPosition Type:Full TimeDetails:The Administrative and Legal Liaison (Affordable Housing) will assist with residential and commercial account collections within the Affordable Housing portfolio. Duties will include coordination with affordable housing property managers, interfacing with tenants to achieve timely and optimal collection rates and appropriate follow-up on payment delinquencies. Liaison will assist with review of rent ledgers to reconcile accounts, assist with subsidy reinstatement, issue late notices and follow up on in-house payment plans. In addition, the liaison will coordinate with the Office of Legal Affairs (OLA) and the affordable housing property management team on housing court cases and provide requisite paperwork to initiate legal cases. This position will also serve as administrative liaison to the SVP of Affordable Housing and will assist with administrative tasks and reports, as needed.The salary is $65,000/AnnuallyKEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Conduct collection calls in a professional manner
  • Contact delinquent tenants by telephone, email, and letters, in accordance with Agency collections policies, with the highest level of professionalism
  • Issue payment reminders and late notices to document collection efforts
  • Prepare and distribute monthly arrears report
  • Prepare paperwork required to initiate legal cases
  • Maintain reports and thoroughly document collection efforts
  • Communicates regularly with leadership and peers to provide updates on collections; confer with property managers on appropriate strategies to improve, as necessary
  • Report out on monthly collections; develop metrics to track, maximize and achieve 95% collection rate
  • Resolve billing issues, accounts receivables delinquencies and update Yardi, as needed
  • Identify issues attributing to account delinquencies and discuss with leadership
  • Mail correspondence to customers to encourage payment of delinquent accounts.
  • Triage concerns and collaborate with the legal department on collection matters.
  • Coordination with OLA and property managers on eviction proceedings.
  • Assist tenants with the coordination of applicable payment support; i.e. HRA One-Shot Deals
  • Focus on tenants with repeated delinquencies and identify trends in non-collection
  • Assist tenants with compliance with annual subsidy required certifications/subsidy reinstatement
  • Set tenants up with RentCafe, when launched via Yardi
  • Provide administrative support to SVP of Affordable Housing.
  • Conduct sites visits as needed for collection purposes
REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma required
  • Knowledge of accounts receivable aging reports
  • Ability to effectively and appropriately interface with diverse set of constituents
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, detailed-oriented, and computer proficiency.
  • Knowledge of Yardi, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • High level of customer service experience
  • Team oriented but ability to work independently, with limited supervision
