- Actively participates in project safety programs, observations and audits.
- Assists Project Managers and Superintendents with project related tasks.
- Tracks and reports quantities of work performed and understands associated costs of such.
- Assists with quality control processes and testing operations
- Communicates productivities to field staff.
- Understands and communicates contract scope to field staff.
- Serves as liaison and ensures communication between the field and office.
- Acts as the primary engineer and contract administrator on small and midsize projects.
- Assists in identifying and promoting changes to improve productivities and quality on the project.
- Effectively communicates with Project Owner/Designer/Architect/Engineering regarding project schedule, issues and activities occurring on the project.
- Develops RFI's, work plans and submittals for the project.
- Assists in monthly financial reporting projections.
- Develops extra work or change order negotiation pricing.
- Develops time and material final pricing submittals.
- Drafts purchase orders and subcontract agreements for review by the Project Manager.
- Assists with CPM schedule development and maintenance.
- Maintains as-built drawings and data collection with assistance from field staff.
- Performs project specific tasks assigned by higher level manager.
- Assists with new project estimating tasks; take-off, scope reviews, subcontractor and supplier solicitation, new work pricing.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plans.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software (particularly Excel).
- Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and attention to detail.
- Ability to be flexible and quickly adapt to new challenges.
- Must be willing and able to travel or relocate as necessary for projects.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field, which may include Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Management or the equivalent experience in the construction industry.
- Experience with various types of heavy civil or geotechnical work including, but not limited to, mass concrete, post-tensioning, dams, drilling, soil nails, caissons, tie backs, shotcrete, slurry walls is preferred.
