This Quality Control Manager role will oversee field quality operations across dry utility projects (power, telecom, gas), ensuring compliance with company, client, and regulatory standards. You'll lead a team of 8, reporting directly to the Director of Operations, and play a vital role in shaping field processes, training, and continuous improvement.The Quality Control Manager - Utilities - Clarke County, VA will be responsible for:
  • Conducting site inspections and quality audits for utility installation (power, telecom, gas)
  • Ensuring adherence to specifications, standards, and safety regulations (OSHA, NEC, NESC)
  • Reviewing construction drawings and verifying field execution aligns with design
  • Creating and managing QC documentation, checklists, and reporting
  • Training field staff on installation best practices, safety, and quality expectations
  • Coordinating with PMs, foremen, and subcontractors to resolve field quality issues
  • Leading root cause analysis and implementing process improvements
  • Supporting project closeout with as-built documentation and final inspections

  • 5-15 years of relevant experience in utility installation or civil infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of construction QA/QC practices, safety regulations, and utility systems
  • Experience leading or mentoring teams, preferably in the field
  • Comfortable reading construction drawings and working with project stakeholders
  • Organized, proactive, and eager to implement and refine field processes
