Job OverviewDrives bus to transport passengers.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions & Job Duties:
  • Drives bus to transport passengers with or without baggage.
  • Ensures all passengers are seated before putting bus into motion.
  • Regulates heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passengers’ comfort.
  • Performs pre-operational checks such as oil, transmission fluid, tires for wear or air, and cooling system, and adds as needed.
  • Inspects lights, belts, hoses, under carriage, brakes, and all safety items.
  • Reports any discrepancies.
  • Assists in cleaning Pool vehicles while on standby.
  • Performs other tasks as directed by Lead.
Accountable For:
  • Tools and equipment within his or her possession.
  • Using PPE when required.
  • Timely, cost-effective performance of duties.
  • Working closely and harmoniously with fellow workers.
  • Adherence to all Safety rules and regulations.
Job RequirementsMandatory:
  • Minimum high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional and courteous manner in diversified situations.
  • Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License with passenger endorsement no restrictions and two years’ verifiable experience
  • Must be able to comprehend, read, speak, and write fluently in the English language.
  • Familiarity with maintenance and/or construction activities.
Preferred:
  • Hazardous Materials endorsement, Tank Vehicle endorsement.
  • Ability to operate forklifts up to 20,000 pounds and other heavy equipment.
  • Snowplow/sanding operations experience.
  • Airfield runway and flight line driving experience.
Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Outdoor work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.
  • Work hours are subject to change, with overtime work as needed.
  • Subject to hazards that may cause personal bodily harm; diseases, cuts, bruises, burns, dust odors, and elevated noise levels.
  • Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, cement structures and surfaces.
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand and/or walk for long periods at a time; sit; use hands and fingers; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear.
  • Capable of lifting and/or moving up to 70 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision.
  • Willing to work shift work.
