- Implements and administers policies, training, programs, and practices to ensure compliance with all aspects of compliance relating to physician practice management, including but not limited to Stark, Anti-Kickback Statute, billing and Coding, DEA, HIPAA, accreditation, and other legal and regulatory rule and regulations and standards.
- Monitors and administers compliance aligned with federal, state, and local regulations. Assists in creating, monitoring, and publishing the Annual Compliance Program workplan and applicable performance metrics.
- Assists in creating and implementing risk assessment and workplan to identify and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse; incorporates into policies, trainings, auditing and monitoring.
- Performs other risk assessments as necessary.
- Serves to facilitate and support Compliance Committee meetings
- Performs a variety of administrative support tasks at the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer relating to Board meetings and preparation of materials for all meetings relating to compliance and legal activities and support
- Performs regular assessments and investigates potential violations to ensure that all appropriate corrective action is taken as necessary.
- Monitors hotline
- Serves as a contact for employees seeking guidance on compliance-related matters and fosters open communication between departments and diverse constituencies.
- Acts as liaison with agencies and coordinates site visits, as necessary.
- Ensures project, departmental or organizational compliance related requirements and goals are met, while adhering to approved protocols and budgets
- Other duties or schedules, including holidays, nights, on call, or weekends, may be assigned based on patient care or business needs.
- 5+ years prior experience in risk management or compliance roles as an individual contributor
- 2+ years supervisory experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, law, ethics, finance, or associated certifications (e.g., RHIA, CHC, CHPS, CHPC); JD preferred
- Exemplify strong knowledge of industry protocols and best practices
- Strong priority and time management skills
- Excellent influencing, collaboration, and communication skills
- Known for an attention to detail, analytical thinking skills, and ability to interpret complex policies and regulatory documents
