As an employee at NSI Industries, you reap the benefits of being part of an expanding company that still maintains a progressive employee culture and atmosphere.The General Maintenance Worker’s primary function is to assist with the organization and maintenance of the facility and yard’s.Job Duties: * Must follow instruction from Lead(s) Supervisor(s) Manager(s).
  • Hammering, power and manual nailing of various wood types.
  • Sweeping, cleaning, blowing, and removing debris from walkways, storage areas, parking lots, etc. both inside and outside the facility.
  • Pallet repair –Assembling products together per company standards.
  • Communicate any issues that arise effectively.
  • Safely operate machines while maintaining a clean and safe work area.
  • Use of assorted cutting saws and electric handheld and manual hand tools.
  • Inventory restocking and inventory control when needed.
  • Organizing inventory within the yard or storage area as needed.
  • A willingness to work safely indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements
  • Must be able to work 10-hour shift Monday-Thursday.
  • Must be flexible – OT and weekend are required as needed.
  • Must be willing to work within multiple areas as needed.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Ability to operate a manual/electric hand truck in and between multiple departments.
Education
  • High School diploma or equivalent
Experience
  • A minimum of 1 year experience reading a tape measure.
  • Must pass tape measure exam.
  • Minimum 1 year manufacturing experience (preferred).
Physical Requirements – Essential
  • Must be in good physical condition with no limitations.
  • Must be able to stand/sit and walk in one place for up to 4 hours at a time.
  • Must be able to lean or bend over for periods of time (Varied based on daily tasks max 2 hours)
  • Must be in good physical condition.
  • Must have good eye/hand coordination.
  • Must be able to lift, pull, push up to 60 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand and/or bend for long periods of time (Varied based on daily tasks).
  • Must be able to work safely indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
