Description:
Duties: Perform inspections of single family housing for compliance with housing code, inspect exterior for electrical, plumbing, sanitation, ventilation defects of hazards, issue notices of violations and abatement. Conduct field inspections to uncover unsafe, abandoned and dilapidated houses, vehicles or other private property in violation of city code of ordinances. Investigate possible violations. Perform initial, renewal and interim inspections of housing units for families and other duties as assigned.Qualifications: Two years of experience in building construction, code enforcement or a related field. Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade supplemented by additional training in construction or the building trades.PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT, APPLICANT RECOMMENDED FOR EMPLOYMENT SHALL BE REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY PASS A URINALYSIS AND/OR BLOOD TEST TO SCREEN FOR ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUG ABUSE.“EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER”Description:
