- Train students to perform lifesaving emergency medical care in austere and battlefield environments worldwide.
- Teach advanced procedures including trauma management, surgical interventions, prolonged casualty care, tropical medicine, and small unit care.
- Prepare graduates to operate independently in environments with limited or no access to traditional healthcare.
- Deliver instruction using approved Programs of Instruction (POI), lesson plans, field exercises, simulations, and virtual/augmented training tools.
- Design and assess learning objectives, quizzes, exams, and course interactions.
- Conduct instruction in both small and large group settings, using didactic, field, and simulation-based methods.
- Assist with development and validation of course materials, Critical Task Lists (CTL), and Syllabi of Instruction (SOI).
- Must be current EMT-Paramedic (NREMT-P) certified
- Must hold instructor certifications: BLS-I, ACLS-I, PALS-I
- Must be TCCC certified (can be completed within 6 weeks of onboarding)
- Must attend SO-ATP after onboarding (government-directed)
- Background: Prefer SOF-experienced medics (PJ, 18D, SOCM, SO-IDMT) with combat deployment and training experience.
- Proficiency in instructing operational medicine, including trauma and emergency care (TCCC, ACLS, PALS, EMT-Paramedic), patient assessment, airway and surgical procedures, OB/GYN and pediatric emergencies, CBRNE casualty care, preventive/tropical medicine, and chronic/psychiatric conditions. Experienced in clinical preceptorships, specialty rotations, and simulation-based training.
- Must be able to lift >75 pounds and move human patient simulation equipment to and from training areas, work in low-light, high-volume environments, and differing weather conditions simulating actual field, casualty evacuation, or aeromedical evacuation missions.
