Overview:The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a 9 bed Level II unit that cares for infants 32 weeks gestation and over with special needs including mechanical ventilation. We have private rooms that allow parents to stay with their infants following discharge.CHI Health St. Francis was established in Grand Island Neb. in 1887. Today our hospital is a regional referral center with more than 100 physicians and more than 1100 employees working together to build a healthier community. Our goal is to provide patients with high-quality medical care close to home where they can be supported by their family friends and community.#CHIMSRES22 Responsibilities:As our NICU Nurse at St. Francis Medical Center, you’ll monitor the complex medical needs of sick and preterm infants. You’ll provide compassionate care, serving as their advocate; supporting their best interests when they cannot.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and assess their needs.
  • Educate parents on various interventions or procedures, medications (name and purpose), exams, etc.
  • Assess newborns and provide care.
  • Communicate with the care management team.
  • Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families.
Compensation: Base rate + shift differentialIncentives: up to $10,000 sign on bonus, up to $10,000 education assistance (must have graduated within 5 years)Nurse Residency offered for all New Graduates Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accrediated nursing program
  • Active RN licensure in the state of Nebraska.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within 5 months of hire.
