Job DescriptionPrimary Duties and Responsibilities:Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
Provides employee coaching and development to all PE board technical staff. Makes technical decisions and works through process issues following proper protocols.
Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
Leads the continuous improvement projects within the PE boards manufacturing operations.
Responsible for updating Standard Operating Procedures and Line condition monitoring.
Assists with achieving daily production requirements and accurately reporting these results.
Participates in and actively support facility safety systems.
Understands and utilize the Quality Assurance system.
Provides leadership and manages department priorities with regard to process controls and product efficiencies.
Assists production manager in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedure, safety, quality control and performance management.
Has direct liaison with maintenance and engineering personnel to correct issues regarding equipment.

QualificationsEducation/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED; Associates Degree preferred.
3-5 years manufacturing experience.
1-2 years' experience in plastics extrusion or plastics manufacturing.
1-2 years previous Technical experience preferred.
Lean manufacturing knowledge to include Kaizen training, 5S and work experience, a plus.
Quality management systems experience, a plus.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
Planning: an ability to think ahead and prepare action plans to achieve results.
Employee technical training and development.
Ability to read, interpret and complete production schedules and reporting forms.
Measurement of performance to goals and standards. (KPI's and departmental metrics)
An ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost and employee relations.
Systems and continuous improvement orientation.
Ability to troubleshoot issues; report and/or correct problems in an effective manner. Utilizing RCA tools
Quality orientation and attention to detail.
Mechanical ability.
Extrusion and downstream production knowledge
Problem analysis and resolution.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
An ability to manage multiple priorities.
Experience with MS Word and Excel.
Strong team leadership and team player.
Ability to work 12 hour shifts in a continuous manufacturing operation
Ability to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as scheduled
