- Serve as EHSS client representative for Process Development, Quality, Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
- Work within the EHSS management system framework to create and implement industrial hygiene and safety programs for site, such as ergonomics, industrial hygiene, biosafety, laser safety, respiratory protection, PPE, etc., following EHSS policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain compliance with X-ray, Laser, and other regulatory requirements for equipment onsite.
- Conduct periodic inspections and audits using established governance systems and keeps EHSS management apprised of potential risks and liabilities.
- Ensure all Industrial Hygiene assessments and surveys are completed and documented.
- Provide periodic reports of progress and plans and conducts briefings as appropriate.
- Collaborate with clients and key stakeholders to identify safety hazards and ensure all risks are assessed.
- Maintain site Industrial Hygiene register and works with stakeholders to complete periodic reviews.
- Lead technical risk assessments such as ergonomic assessments, PARA reviews, EHS change control, etc., document accordingly, track corrective actions and ongoing compliance with risk mitigation strategies and controls.
- During the first year, work with Amgen Operations teams to implement Amgen safety practices and industrial hygiene and safety programs during facility startup.
- Serve as EHSS subject matter expert and main point of contact to key functions at the site supporting EHS training, laboratory inspections, and incident investigations.
- Implement and manage industrial hygiene program, create the site IH register and develop assessment plan for site.
- Lead key site EHSS programs including Pressure Safety, Personal Protective Equipment, Ergonomics, Laser safety, X-Ray safety, Industrial Hygiene, Biosafety, training and incident management.
- Doctorate Degree and 2 years of Environmental, Safety, Science, Engineering or EHS experience
- Master’s Degree and 4 years of Environmental, Safety, Science, Engineering or EHS experience
- Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years of Environmental, Safety, Science, Engineering or EHS experience
- Associate’s Degree and 10 years of Environmental, Safety, Science, Engineering or EHS experience
- High School Diploma / GED and 12 years of Environmental, Safety, Science, Engineering or EHS experience
- Degree in Safety, Science, or Engineering.
- Proficiency performing EHS reviews for various safety programs including industrial hygiene, biosafety and ergonomics.
- Knowledge of relevant OSHA and NRC regulations.
- Applied knowledge and understanding of EHSS principles and practices, regulatory standards, and requirements in context of business activities.
- Experience managing EHSS programs in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
- Well-developed skills in leadership, communication, program development and project management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software systems.
