Job Description:he Levy Group of Companies is seeking an Environmental Specialist to work with our Construction division, the candidate can be located anywhere in South East Michigan. The Environmental Specialist will work with our corporate environmental team to provide environmental expertise and support to our steel mill services and construction materials divisions.Pay: $80,000+Benefits

ResponsibilitiesThe Environmental Specialist:
  • Monitor and update environmental compliance programs (e.g., SPCC, SWPPP)
  • Conduct environmental training (e.g., SPCC, Storm Water, Air Compliance, ISO 14001)
  • Complete regulatory reporting (e.g., SARA Tier II and TRI reports)
  • Audit compliance with environmental permits (e.g., Air Permits, NPDES Permits)
  • Perform certified visible emission readings
  • Collect environmental samples (e.g., waste, storm water), review and communicate results
  • Support remediation, construction and demolition projects
  • Participate in site EHS audits
  • Assist in investigating environmental related incidents, determining root causes and corrective actions
  • Monitor compliance and training records
  • Develop and maintain current knowledge of environmental regulations
  • Develop and maintain positive relations with internal and external stakeholders to support EHS programs
  • Assist with special projects and other duties assigned by manager
SkillsThe ideal candidate will have:
  • 0 - 10 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of EPA and state environmental regulations
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint (AutoCad a plus)
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
  • Ability to interface with various levels of employees and customers
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, strong self-starter
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle, valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Ability to travel up to 50% by ground and air
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental sciences, or similar discipline
