We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Human Resources to serve as the second-in-command for the HR function within our growing healthcare organization. This role will work closely with the CHRO/VP of HR to drive people strategy, oversee daily HR operations, and ensure alignment of HR programs with business priorities. The Director will provide leadership across all areas of Human Resources, while directly managing HR staff and serving as a trusted advisor to executives, leaders, and employees.The ideal candidate is a strong HR leader with healthcare experience who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and can balance both strategic initiatives and operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with the CHRO/VP of HR to design and implement the overall HR strategy aligned with the company’s mission, vision, and goals.Serve as acting HR leader in the absence of the CHRO/VP of HR, ensuring continuity of operations and decision-making.Provide counsel to executives and senior leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, employee engagement, and succession planning.Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives across the organization.Lead and manage HR functions including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, benefits and compensation, compliance, and HR systems.Ensure HR policies, procedures, and practices comply with healthcare regulations, labor laws, and accreditation standards.Partner with Finance and Operations teams to oversee workforce budgeting, headcount planning, and compensation strategies.Drive process improvement and HR technology adoption to optimize efficiency and employee experience.Supervise, mentor, and develop the HR team, fostering a high-performing, service-oriented culture.Provide coaching and support to HR Business Partners and specialists across multiple HR disciplines.Build strong cross-functional relationships with department leaders and serve as a trusted partner in addressing workforce challenges.Promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture that reflects the company’s values and supports employee well-being.Lead initiatives to strengthen employee engagement, retention, and leadership development programs.Oversee investigations, conflict resolution, and employee relations matters with professionalism and fairness.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree or HR certifications preferred: SHRM-SCP, SPHR).10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a healthcare or regulated industry.Proven track record in both strategic HR leadership and hands-on operational management.Strong knowledge of employment law, healthcare compliance, and HR best practices.Exceptional communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.Experience leading HR teams and serving as a trusted advisor to senior executives.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Powered by JazzHR
