DescriptionLeidos National Security Sector is currently seeking a Mid-level RF Engineer, to provide support to assist a Department of Defense customer in performing its research and development mission. The engineer’s work will include concept and technology research, exploration, development, documentation, analysis, experimentation, adaptation, integration, and transition.The employee will perform a variety of tasks that include but not limited to:Research, analysis, engineering concept studies, and documenting findings.Conduct research and analysis and provide support for the improvement and development of analytical models that predict system signatures and describe the effects.Conduct related demonstrations, exercises, and experiments.The employee will work both independently, and as part of small teams. They will coordinate as needed with the customer technical project team, and subject matter experts and scientists from other organizations.As a mid-level member of the team, the employee may be the single discipline representative on a cross-discipline effort. They will direct/advise the work of junior team members. They will develop, conduct and report on experimentation, study and demonstration events. They will make recommendations based on their findings.Though not frequent, there is a possibility for occasional travel on this project.There is a likelihood of a hybrid work environment, with some time at the customer location, and other time at a remote/home office location. The distribution of time at various work locations will depend on the specific nature of work performed at any given time, and the associated security, facility, and equipment requirements.Primary Responsibilities:Design and conduct experimentation regarding impacts of radio frequency signals on various materials. This may include developing mathematical models, or modeling and simulation inputs, or working with others to do so to replicate or adjust signal behaviors and characteristics, and observe, document, and assess them.Develop, employ, and refine test tool prototypes for signal generation, observation, measurement and optimization.Summarize significant findings, present and discuss them with the government customer and technical team.Develop, review, and assess concepts, theories, and research from other sources and provide summaries and recommendations to the government technical team as appropriate.Identify and/or design, develop or adapt, demonstrate, and evaluate specialized tools for generation, transmission and measurement of signals and effects of interest.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree with 4 or more years of relevant experience; degree must be in a relevant engineering disciplineUS Citizen; Currently possessing an active DoD Secret clearance, with possible elevation to Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance with SCI eligibilityProven knowledge and experience with microwave/pulsed powerProficiently communicate in the English language, both orally and in writingCompetently use MS Office applicationsTravel up to 10% to locations within the continental USPreferred Qualifications:Master’s degree with 2 or more years of relevant experience; degree must be in a relevant engineering disciplinePrevious experience within the ARL program office or another government research agencyExtensive experience in the areas of electrical and radio frequency engineering; application design, refinement, or adaptation for military application; and full cycle project support from conception to completion.EIO2024Original Posting Date: 2024-04-03While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.Pay Range: Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
