
Senior Engineer - Structural

- Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to their area of expertise.
- Provides technical engineering expertise to project managers, engineers, and/or clients to ensure the project complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions.
- Reviews, analyzes, and resolves field and/or design issues.
- Provides expertise in complex engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices.
- Serves as the technical specialist on engineering projects of varying size and complexity in field or office in accordance with plans and specifications.
- Responsible for engineering projects of varying size and complexity in field or office in accordance with plans and specifications.
- Plans, schedules, conducts, and/or coordinates detailed phases of assigned project work.
- Assists in proposal preparation, project scoping, and estimating project costs.
- Assists in coordinating project schedules and timely completion of projects.
- Provides technical leadership to project teams and support staff.
- Supervises all staff necessary to complete assignments.
- Serves as a coach for other project engineers and technical staff.
- Actively observes and acts in an appropriate manner related to safety.
- Is available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.
- Stays active in technical societies.
- Publishes engineering papers and/or articles.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Bachelor's degree and/or master’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university.
- 12 years or more progressive experience in project engineering.
- Experience with the evaluation and structural design of infrastructure including, but not limited to, waterfront structures, marinas, ports, energy and industrial facilities and/or bridges.
- Maintains competency in and serves as major firm resource in field of expertise.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification
- Experience with various design codes including, but not limited to, IBC, AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI, ASCE 7, AWS, PCI, and AASHTO a plus
- Experience with various design software including, but not limited to, STAAD, RISA, Revit, AutoCAD, and Mathcad a plus.
