Deceuninck North America is seeking a Process Engineer for its Monroe, OH facility. In this role, the Process Engineer is responsible for the constant review of the manufacturing processes to identify Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunities that will result in increased efficiency, cost savings or customer satisfaction through measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPI). The Process Engineer will also need to have superior communication / presentation skills and the ability to facilitate cross-functional teams from project concept through execution.Core Responsibilities:
Analyze, document, own and enforce extrusion parameters, tooling configurations, startup/shutdown protocols, and quality checks, while simplifying decision-making and line setup for operators to remove tribal knowledge and enable consistency shift-to-shift.
Use material science expertise to optimize the extrusion of rigid PVC window lineals, understanding how compounding, temperature, shear, and line speed impact output.
Build a culture where no deviation from standard work occurs without this engineer's review and approval, while cultivating a team of technical experts and support personnel to drive best practices across all shifts and lines.
Spend significant time on the shop floor observing current practices, identifying inefficiencies, and coaching supervisors and operators toward standardization.
Design and roll out an optimized line layout-machinery, tools, materials, and flow-then scale those practices across the entire extrusion department.
Monitor key metrics (OEE, scrap, uptime, etc.), perform root cause analyses, lead corrective action implementation, and drive accountability for sustained results.
Oversee end-to-end project management activities for high value, high impact strategic initiatives that create value for the business, improve facility performance, enhance work environments, support sustainability, and reduce operational costs.
Participate in the CAPEX budget process for DNA, collaborating with finance and maintenance teams to prepare budgets for future years, and lead the development and updating of the capital plan aligned with departmental strategic plans and business priorities.
Manage contingencies between multiple projects, monitor interdependencies and synergies, and lead status meetings with department leaders and internal customers.
Secure, lead, motivate, and inspire internal and external resources to effectively deliver programs and projects, while establishing governance structures and managing external vendors.
Act as the primary technical authority for extrusion process decisions and escalate noncompliance immediately to executive leadership
Communicate project plans, status, and risks to key stakeholders using various communication methods.
Qualifications:
3+ years of extrusion, injection molding, or similar process experience including demonstrated authority over process standards.
Significant engineering experience within a manufacturing environment with proven ability to influence production leadership.
Prior experience leading individuals
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Work, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Knowledge of statistical analysis software and reporting (Minitab, etc.)
Strong project management skills and tools
Lean Green Belt or Black Belt required (Black Belt Highly desired)
Prior experience working with vendors / contractors related to building renovations, capital equipment purchase / installations, decommissioning equipment.
Ability to work collaboratively with employees at all levels of the organization from the shop floor to the executive level, with a track record of driving accountability.
Experience managing expense budgets and controlling project costs.
Ability to read engineering drawings is a differentiator.
