If you said yes, you’re just what we need in a Medical Assistant.WHAT YOU WILL DO - Provide direct patient care, which may include rooming patients, taking vitals, obtaining a comprehensive medical history, administering vaccines, injections, and medications, phlebotomy, point of care testing and medication reconciliation. - Provide customer service to internal and external customers via phone, electronic, and in person. - May perform patient registration duties. - Initiate and follow through on prior authorizations, referrals, and medication refills. - Enter patient information into an electronic medical records system and use systems to produce and conduct referrals, prior authorizations, medication research, and other related duties. WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED - Prior Medical Assisting experience preferred. - Maintain composure even in very difficult situations. - Knowledge of hematology/blood collection technology, techniques, and procedures. - Customer service skills. - Knowledge of terminology used in diagnosis and classification of illnesses, injuries, and disabilities. - Follow directions as communicated in a variety of ways. - Show sincere interest in others and their concerns. - Understanding of patient handling techniques. - Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, generic and trade names, and ICD coding. - Develop effective relationships with patients, hospital departments, and other external parties. - Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
