- Performs mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on equipment according to manufacturer's manuals, diagrams, sketches etc. This includes, but is not limited to, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, drying equipment, motors, VFDs, and control instruments to sustain and improve operations in a manner that minimizes downtime.
- Ability to setup and operate simple machining operations including but not limited to: lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. Ability to perform basic welding tasks.
- Ability to understand mechanical and electrical blue prints, sketches or schematics of complex objects and circuitry as requested in work orders or to perform job duties.
- Is aware of, and can demonstrate, maintenance best practices such as alignments of sheaves and sprockets.
- Identifies needed parts, supplies, and repair items working in the CMMS.
- Provides support and back up for other members of department as needed by leadership.
- Assures compliance with 6S and housekeeping standards.
- Participates in Continuous Improvement activities.
- Performs basic troubleshooting of control systems circuitry.
- Provides assistance to lower-level mechanics and leadership to small teams. Performs more advanced functions as a part of training and development.
- Complies with all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines. Situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.
- Knowledge of carton formers, case packers, and weighing equipment.
- Knowledge of utilities such as boilers and air compressors.
- Background in wastewater treatment.
