- The Clinical Educator reports to the Chief Nursing Officer, develops and provides services related to the orientation, continuing education, and assessment of clinical staff.
- Collaborates with Clinical Leaders and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.
- Serves as a consultant/mentor for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.
- Participates in the development, coordination, and delivery of new staff orientation and education activities.
- Position validates and verifies that appropriate education is occurring as per programs, processes and requirements in various ways, ie. working alongside staff, shadowing, verbalization and direct observation in all clinical units.
- Collaborates with Clinical Leaders to ensure successful roll out of educational programs/initiatives.
- Assists in the orientation/mentoring of new hires along with the preceptor, ensuring competencies and training are completed timely.
- Acts as a clinical resource to the clinical leaders preceptors and staff.
- This position acts as backup for Employee Health for new employee screenings in absence of Infection Preventionist/EH RN.
- Collaborates with Quality department and Human Resources to support compliance with all Education/Training regulatory requirements for staff.
- This position will be expected to spend time on the clinical units during various shifts with staff when necessary for education.
- Integrates evidence based practices into protocols in collaboration with Clinical Educators
- Bachelor's degree in nursing, Master's preferred
- Must have current BLS upon hire Must maintain instructor status in BLS and at least two of the following: ACLS, PALS, NRP, or AWHONN.
- Requires current NM RN licensure or appropriate compact licensure to start.
- Must have at least five recent years of bedside patient care nursing experience in a hospital setting. Familiarity with EMR required
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

- Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
