This role blends product thinking, market insight, and cross-functional collaboration to shape the approach for interoperability in revenue cycle.We are looking for a talented and driven individual with a combination of technical aptitude and stakeholder management, process design, and project management skills. You’ll be responsible for influencing, communicating, and aligning athena’s revenue cycle API roadmap priorities with payers and trading partners along with establishing an execution framework.Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):Key responsibilities include pipeline development, configuration coordination and industry engagement. You’ll be responsible for:Pipeline Development for API integrationsLead identification and prioritization of strategic integration partners and API solutions;Collaborate with operations and product teams to define use cases for APIs application, determine priorities in collaboration with cross functional stakeholders;Scope API partnership opportunities and create ROI analysis;Support business terms negotiationSupport onboarding and co-development opportunities between athena and Payers/Trading Partners through API documentation and product/operations engagementCoordinate API integrations with Product, Service Lines, Payer Gateway, and Payers/VendorsManage post live enhancement opportunities and error feedback loopCoordinate responses to API changesIndustry engagementPush adoption of standard RCM FHIR API standardsDaVinci HL7 RepresentationDrive adoption of Auth standard API formatDrive adoption of Postable remit format with stakeholders who have agreed to support the work (Availity, Centene)Lead development of new standards as neededEducation & Experience Required:Strong project management experience, including the ability to independently manage multiple concurrent projectsStrong influencing skills with the ability to establish relationships with stakeholders at all levels at athena or external to our organization. Ability to work independently and engage stakeholders directly by building trustAbility to develop third party relationships inclusive of negotiations of terms and growth focused initiativesA background in revenue cycle operations is preferredKnowledge & Skills:Excellent communication skills and effective networking with a broad base of internal and external constituentsAnalytically focused and process driven; able to synthesize information and use data to make decisions;Demonstrated financial modeling, scenario planning and analysis experienceAbility to manage numerous detail-intensive, interdependent, and time-sensitive tasks and ensure the accurate completion of the sameProblem identification and issue resolutionDemonstrated ability to lead and influence others to achieve desired resultsAble to navigate ambiguity and uncertainty with positive predisposition and ability to make incremental progress through challengesQualifications:Understanding of API-based platforms and third-party integration strategyExperience with FHIR, HL7, EDI, or financial APIsExperience with revenue cycle management tools or workflows, especially in healthtech or fintechStrong analytical and market research skills; comfort with data-driven decision-makingExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsPreferred:Product strategy, GTM, or product management roles.About athenahealthOur vision: In an industry that becomes more complex by the day, we stand for simplicity.
