Data Center Technician III Lead (Rack & Stack)

- Perform physical installation of telecom equipment: BBUs, RRUs, routers, switches, power systems, and cabinets
- Execute rack & stack, cabling (CAT6/fiber), RF jumper installation, and grounding to industry standards
- Install, terminate, and test fiber optic and coaxial cable, including OTDR and power meter testing
- Support site integration for 4G/5G/LTE networks (Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung, Ciena, etc.)
- Perform E911, VoLTE/VoNR call testing, sector sweep tests, and drive test validation
- Work with RF engineers and remote testers to ensure site readiness and KPI compliance
- Complete installations of -48V DC power systems, battery backups, rectifiers, and grounding
- Verify proper voltage, current loads, and equipment startup using meters and hand tools
- Maintain detailed installation records, redlines, and closeout packages (COPs)
- Use mobile applications or field forms to log work completed, photos, test results, and sign-offs
- Serve as field lead when required; guide junior technicians and subcontractors on-site
- Communicate clearly with project managers, site leads, and customer contacts
- Follow project-specific Methods of Procedure (MOPs), safety protocols, and escalation paths
- 5+ years of experience in telecom field installation, integration, or maintenance
- Proficient in working with major OEM equipment (Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung, Cisco, Ciena, etc.)
- Experience with fiber and copper testing (OTDR, PIM, VSWR, SFP diagnostics)
- Strong knowledge of DC power plant installation and troubleshooting
- Comfortable working in data centers, rooftops, central offices, and outdoor tower environments
- Strong verbal, written, and documentation skills
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work at heights when required
- Willingness to travel extensively (75–100%) and work flexible hours
- Valid driver’s license and clean MVR
- OSHA 10/30, RF Safety, CPR/First Aid certifications
- Familiar with iBwave, ATOLL, or other telecom engineering tools
- Experience with structured cabling, AC power, and HVAC coordination
- Experience performing microwave or IP backhaul equipment installs
- OTDRs, PIM analyzers, fiber scopes, multimeters
- Cordless drills, ladders, safety harnesses, hand tools
- Company vehicle and test kits (if applicable)
