Industry: Structural Engineering | Building Design & Inspections | Residential & Commercial ProjectsOur client, a growing and respected structural engineering firm, is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join their team in either Tampa or Orlando, FL. This is a full-time, senior-level opportunity for a licensed engineer with extensive experience in designing and managing structural projects across both residential and commercial sectors.You'll lead a team of CAD technicians and interns to develop permit-ready documents and ensure all design work aligns with local and state building codes. If you're looking for a role where you can make an immediate impact, collaborate with a dedicated team, and help bring client visions to life—this is the position for you.Key ResponsibilitiesManage structural engineering projects from proposal through construction administration.Oversee building inspections, structural evaluations, and analysis of existing and new structures.Prepare structural permit documents and design deliverables aligned with code requirements.Collaborate with CAD technicians and engineering interns to execute designs efficiently.Maintain ongoing communication with clients to ensure design intent and expectations are met.Coordinate deadlines, design phases, and technical reviews to ensure project success.Provide mentorship to junior staff and serve as a technical resource on complex projects.Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (from an ABET-accredited program).Engineering Intern (EI) certification (required).10–20 years of experience designing residential and commercial buildings.Strong knowledge of Florida Building Code and structural design standards.Proven experience preparing permit-ready documents and managing complete project lifecycles.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.Self-motivated and team-oriented approach to work.Preferred QualificationsProfessional Engineering (P.E.) License in Florida (or ability to obtain).Experience in both low-rise and mid-rise building design.Familiarity with structural analysis software and modern drafting tools.Previous leadership or mentorship experience within a design team.This role offers a combination of leadership, technical challenge, and project diversity in a collaborative work environment.
