
Legal Assistant - Trusts & Estates

- Prepare and manage legal documents such as Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, and Health Care Proxies.
- Answering telephone calls, maintaining client contact, scheduling meetings
- Assist attorneys with creating, formatting and revising retainer letters and other legal documents
- Typing and proofreading work for accuracy
- E-filing
- Keep case files organized, maintain calendars, track deadlines, and update case management systems.
- Communicate with clients and their families professionally and empathetically.
- Assist attorneys with drafting, proofreading, and formatting legal correspondence.
- Manage emails, schedules, billable time entries, expense reports, and e-filing
- Attend Will signings
- 5+ years of law firm experience and a background in the areas of Trusts and Estates.
- Be proactive and able to assist with the preparation of legal documents, including Wills, Trusts, Health Care Proxies, Living Wills and Powers of Attorney and provide attorneys with administrative support.
- Be able to type 55+ wpm and have excellent spelling, grammar and organizational skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and work both independently and as a team member.
- Experience with NetDocs a plus.
