
Equipment Mechanic

- Full-time
- Troubleshoot equipment accurately and repair breakdowns quickly to maintain operating efficiency.
- Proven abilities in a wide range of technical skills in repairing automobiles
- Proven abilities in a wide range of technical skills in repairing all landscaping and construction equipment with 4-cycle engines, 2-cycle engines, and other small engines
- Including but not limited to:
- Commercial Mowers, Blowers, String Trimmers, Edgers, Hedge Trimmers, Tractors, & Skid Steers
- Perform oil changes, air filter changes, belt replacements and inspect all safety devices of equipment.
- Perform off site repairs
- Pick up of parts from vendors
- Assist in maintaining service records for all equipment
- Maintain and organize parts as needed
- Ensure that all parts go through company inventory.
- Maintain Shop area, yard, and building
- Communicate with managers internally as needed in order to insure crews have proper equipment to perform task.
- Insure OSHA and other regulations are followed for all equipment
- Assist Company in seasonal services provided to customers.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED with 3 years experience in related field.
- Must have a valid NC Driver’s license and maintain a good driving record (CDL preferred)
- Must submit to a reference and criminal background check.
- Must have good communication skills
- Must comply with Bland Landscaping Company, Inc. policies and procedures
- Must practice safety with chemicals and all equipment
- Must wear company provided uniforms and use personal protective equipment as needed
- Must be able to pass a Criminal Background check
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.).
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions and environments.
- Ability to stand, kneel, or crouch for extended periods of time.
- Capable of working with heavy machinery in tight or challenging spaces.
