- Administer medications (when needed)
- Communicate with doctors and family members
- Provide direction for care staff
- Demonstrate awareness of and sensitivity to the needs of residents and their families
- Provide daily assessment of "at risk" residents to ensure health needs are being met
- Assist Resident Care Director with ensuring that all medications are being administered per company and state policies.
- Provide training and support to Resident Care Assistants to ensure that they are properly administering medications
- QA at the direction of the Resident Care Director of the MAR, storage, and supply of medication to ensure compliance.
- Personally observe administration of medications to ensure compliance.
- Establish and maintain a healthy working relationship with PCP, specialists and other medical providers.
- Communicate with all departments changes in residents and medical needs.
- Directly supervises employees
- Facilitate communication between shifts and caregivers
- Assign care giving duties to direct caregivers
- Provide assistance with coverage in extreme situations
- Assist with assuring Medication Assistants and Resident Care Assistants are knowledgeable of current company and state policies pertinent to their jobs
- Assist with assessment of new residents for admission including ensuring that all admission paperwork meets company and state requirements prior to admission
- Assist with resident admission, transfer, and discharge as needed
- Ensure that all employee evaluations are completed in a timely manner
- Ensure ASP is followed
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must have a valid and current LPN or RN license in the state of Pennsylvania
- Must have a valid PA driver's license
- Must maintain certification as a practicum observer
- Must maintain CPR certification
- Must complete annual training as required by current regulations
- Must have excellent planning, organizational, time management & assessment skills
- Must have excellent communications skills
